Hocking Hills Attractions & Things to Do
Attractions in the Hocking Hills region include canoeing, kayaking, ziplining, horseback riding, family activities, glassblowing, astronomy, scenic train rides and local museums. Use this directory to find things to do near Old Man’s Cave, Rockbridge, Laurelville, Logan, Nelsonville, Lake Hope and Zaleski.

A family-oriented farm attraction offering hands-on animal encounters, a petting zoo, gem mining and seasonal activities.
Hocking Hills Children’s Museum
Area: Downtown Logan
A hands-on children’s museum with interactive exhibits centered on play, creativity, art, engineering, sensory discovery and early learning.
Movies 10 & Fun Barn
Movies 10 & Fun Barn in Nelsonville offers a ten-screen movie theater and a large arcade. It is a good choice for families, teenagers and rainy-day visitors and is about half an hour from the Old Man’s Cave area. Check current movie times and operating hours before making the drive.

Butterfly Ridge Butterfly Conservation Center

A seasonal outdoor conservation center devoted to Ohio butterflies, moths, pollinators and their native habitats. Check current conditions and hours before visiting.
John Glenn Astronomy Park
Area: Near Old Man’s Cave on State Route 664
A public astronomy park created for observing the night sky, with scheduled educational programs and opportunities for visitors to view celestial objects through telescopes.
Trains, History and Museums
Hocking Valley Scenic Railway
Area: Nelsonville
A nonprofit historic railway offering seasonal passenger excursions aboard vintage railroad equipment, along with themed and special-event train rides.
Robbins Crossing Historical Village
Area: Hocking College in Nelsonville
A recreated Southeastern Ohio village interpreting daily life from approximately 1830 through 1880, with historic buildings, demonstrations and seasonal programs.
Hocking County Historical and Genealogical Society and Museum
Area: Logan
A local museum complex preserving Hocking County history through historic objects, photographs, documents, genealogy resources and period exhibits.

Ash Cave, Old Man's Cave, Rock House, Conkle's Hollow, Cedar Falls, Cantwell Cliffs, and Whispering Cave Trail. These park areas offer a unique experience for those who walk its paths no matter what season (the park is open year-round from dawn to dusk)—located on the southern edge of Hocking County. But those are just a handful. Other hiking trails in the Hocking Hills region include those at Wayne National Forest, Clear Creek Metro Parks, Lake Hope State Park, the Moonville Rail Trail, and the Hockhocking Adena Bikeway.
